Electronic Course Scheduling (ECS) Training
This version of ECS is accessed
directly through the PeopleSoft database and will allow course scheduling
information to be available immediately for students, without an upload
process.
All users are required to attend training for the new system. Click
on the "Register for Classes" link on the left side of this
page to see available sessions, under the "ECS in PS" class
title.

To obtain access to the ECS system, please be aware of two items:
#1: All ECS users:
All users of the new ECS system will need to apply for access by completing
the Access Request Form Requester's Demographic Information and the
Electronic Course Scheduling (ECS) attachment. Forms are available at
the Data Security link at the left on this page, under Resources. Duluth
Campus: access request forms need to be sent to Judy Hinnenkamp,
139 DAdB, for processing.
#2:
For current PeopleSoft users:
If you currently have access to view and or update student records in
the PeopleSoft system, it will only be necessary to enroll in an ECS
training session and apply for access through OIT Data Security (see
#1).
For lapsed PeopleSoft users:
If you had access to view and or update student records in PeopleSoft
and have lost this access due to a job change or non-use, you will need
to reapply for access through OIT Data Security (see #1) and attend
an ECS training session.
For new PeopleSoft users:
For staff without access to PeopleSoft there is a prerequisite for the
ECS training, which is SR 1480/Student Data Inquiry/SDI. The SDI class
is an introduction to PeopleSoft navigation, terminology, course and
student data. You must attend SDI PRIOR to attending the ECS class to
receive access to ECS. You will also need to apply for access to ECS
through OIT Data Security (see #1).
